‘Chhand’ we call them now,
But we forgot them, how?
So, here’s to cage we put OUR art in,
Unlock it, and you’ll be happier than ever you have been!

Hobbies. One word which clutches numerous affairs we have indulged in, with ourselves. Everyone has a rack that preserves art in some way or the other. What felt like a need was to wipe the dust off this rack and pick every art kept as a showpiece, wear it and redecorate yourself!

The Concept

Tejas, being an extensive Chai lover, was sitting on his work desk on a gloomy noon. His hands suddenly teamed up with his desk and a musical story was tuned. Apparently, he was a keen learner of Tabla back in his childhood days but as the calendars on the wall flipped and changed, his priorities got rearranged too. But this fine noon, he sparked up with the thought of recreating, revisiting and recollecting everything he left at pitstops!

The Visuals

The real fun commences here! Disclaimer- none of the people seen in the film are actors. They’re a part of the Creative Splash family. We didn’t even feel the need to find a different star cast. Why? The people in the video had wild yet soft creative sides hidden in them. We just needed to unleash them and in this way, we got the stars out on the screen of our cast! In every shot, there is a raw happiness seen. That happiness strapped on to them as they grew up. Be it pedaling a cycle or pedaling legs in the water, a ‘Chhand’ got a stage.

The Production

Chhand guided us to various places. For that instance, Tilak Tank is one of the most renowned swimming places in Pune. If caught in there with a camera, they’ll make you jump off the province. But Tejas met Deshpande sir there, the man who taught him to jump in the pool and stay afloat. Here, not only a hobby, but also a relationship was preserved. In mere 15 days, we got it shooting amongst the splashes!

While we are talking about the coexistence of memories with hobbies, a mention is deserved by the ‘Tabla Story’ too. When we knocked on the door of Tejas’s Tabla tutor, a bag of smiles was spilled. After chats and shots, Tejas bid a goodbye. But as he turned back, he saw a picture of him in the corner of his teacher’s house. Indeed, art can never leave him, neither can he leave the art, artist and artwork. He looked back and saw his younger version on the same Tabla, calling him back!

The Artists

As said above, we didn’t need any actors for the shoot as our crewmates themselves were artists. Everyone stood up with the hobbies they had as the stage awaited them. No sooner, the room was filled with art, talent and smiles. A wholesome moment was established. Everyone revisited the things they were fond of.

The Motto

Nowadays, people are running short of time, energy and unconsciously depriving themselves of happiness. Work and chores push stress on the minds and hence, issues like depression, anxiety, behavioural issues arise. Work is important, it definitely is but so are you. Sparing some time to do the things you love, may it be cooking, swimming, reading or just practicing the moves of legs or pens gets you fresh and fun. Fetching and preserving hobbies is an essential in the current scenario. Another note here lies in the book of Covid-19. When the world was locked in, the boxes of creativity were getting unlocked. Here, promoting Chhand made a powerful impact on the minds and pushed people to pick out and magnify in their hobbies. That was an achievement for us!

After being teleported to our childhood, ticking off the hobbies and spreading smiles, we decided to work on the post production of the film. But a roller coaster started there too.
